Crowner & Company. Los Angeles design-build general contractor for recording studios, residential and commercial.

Who we are

We build residences, studios and spaces where craft feels quietly exceptional. Meticulous in detail, effortless in feeling.

Crowner & Company builds and remodels Southern California residences, recording studios and commercial spaces in close collaboration with the architects, designers and creatives behind them.

Every project is led with hands-on care, clear communication and disciplined execution. The result is spaces that feel as considered up close as they do at first glance.

How we work
01

Custom residences

Ground-up homes and major remodels

Recording studios

Technically precise spaces for sound and creativity

03

Commercial spaces

01 What we build

Three divisions, one level of craft.

Where records get made.Recording studios
01 · The wedge

Where records get made.

In partnership with Studio Design Partners of LA, we build acoustically-tuned recording studios, home studios and listening rooms. Control rooms, live rooms, vocal booths and the sound-locks between them, built to measure flat and stay dead quiet.

02 · The homes

Remodeling, reimagined.

Kitchens, baths, whole-home renovations and additions, executed with finish-level obsession and a craftsman's hand. Continuous ceiling lines, tile set dead-flat, and the quiet competence that survives a close look.

Built to work.

Creative offices, film and photo locations, retail and hospitality. Spaces built to perform under heavy use and delivered to a deadline, with the same craft we bring to a private home.

03 Why Crowner

How we're different.

Anyone can swing a hammer. The difference is in how a project is protected, communicated and finished.

01

We protect the vision

We build to the architect's intent down to the millimeter. The renderings are a promise, and we keep it.

02

We finish the last five percent

The finish is the whole project. We obsess over the last five percent, the part most people never notice and never forget.

03

We protect the site

Protected finishes, a tidy site and trades sequenced with care. A remodel you live through should stay livable.

04

One team, start to finish

The same team is accountable from the first walk to the final reveal, with transparent updates and no disappearing acts.

In good company

The people we build for.

Artists, engineers and performers who trust us with the rooms they create in.

Exploded acoustic wall assembly showing slat finish, gypsum layers, damping compound, isolation clips, mineral wool, framing, and acoustic sealant.
04 Inside the wall

Quiet is engineered, not improvised.

Real isolation comes from mass, damping, decoupling, absorption, and airtight sealing. Each layer in the assembly plays a specific role, working together to reduce transmission, control resonance, and create the quiet clarity a studio demands.

  1. 01Acoustic slat finishControls first reflections while adding warmth and diffusion.
  2. 02First 5/8″ gypsum layerAdds initial mass to improve airborne sound isolation.
  3. 03Damping compoundConverts panel vibration into low-level heat between gypsum layers.
  4. 04Second 5/8″ gypsum layerBuilds additional mass for higher transmission loss.
  5. 05Isolation clips + hat channelDecouples the finish face from framing to reduce vibration transfer.
  6. 06Mineral wool insulationAbsorbs cavity resonance and broad-band acoustic energy.
  7. 07Wood stud framing + structural sheathingProvides the structural backbone and assembly depth.
  8. 08Acoustic sealant + sealed penetrationsCloses perimeter gaps and flanking paths where isolation usually fails.
